Today was pretty chill. Slept in until 11. When I finally woke up a little I watched season 1 episodes of Veronica Mars while playing in bed with the baby.

Once Jax went down for a nap I went downstairs to make "breakfast" which was really lunch... It was noon. Made oatmeal with banana. Since Jax was sleeping I decided to tackle a project I'd been meaning to do all weekend. Clean my fridge out. Boy was it messy!!! I don't even want to say the gross things I found in there. Yuck!! I didn't just clean out old food though. I cleaned out pretty much every processed food item with the exception of some of Todd's things. while his support in my food habits is appreciated, I don't force it on him. :) for more reasons than 1, I am trying to stop eating processed foods and eat all natural. I've given up white flour and most sugar except found in some yogurts. I've been doing it for 1 day and I already feel amazing physically and spiritually. Cleaning the fridge helped. I think having a clean fridge makes me more likely to eat better. I even rearranged it so that fruit, snap peas, yogurt and my almond milk were on the top shelf, easy to access. Most of the time we put all the healthy stuff at the bottom shelf level and well.... out of sight out of mind. here is a pic of my fridge....

Kinda hard to see but it's sparkly clean and I can see everything in it!

After I cleaned, jax woke up, fed him then we loaded up and went by the post office, babiesrus, then trader joes. I had fun hauling him around in his seven sling. He loved it until he'd been in it about an hour. Just enough time to get what I needed done. It was fun picking out produce and to stay conscious of what I was buying instead of just throwing in junk. A friend posted on her blog that she was only going to shop at trader joes from now on. That really inspired me. The food quality is so much better! How many of us have been guilty of saying "oh I still need to go to Safeway for such and such processed junk" So from now on if it's not at TJ's don't get it!

Here is a pic of us getting ready to sling around town.

Gnite!

Haircut & a Wagon Ride

Today we woke up and stayed in bed and watched Toy Story 3. We tried watching it last night but I kept falling asleep! Haha. I was so tired after our park date yesterday. I loved Toy Story! It was so cute! We figured out that the first movie came out when I was 13 and Todd was 18! I love all the Toy Story movies.

After Toy Story we went over to Kalli's and she cut Todd's hair! It looks very handsome. =) On the way over I took pics of Jax in his carseat and While we were at Kalli's I snapped some pics of Jax and Orlando playing in the wagon! I will post them below. =D

Tonight I went to church with Kalli. Todd and I are church hunting and it has not been fun! Bleh. I have felt very unmotivated to look for a new church because the process is so difficult. Kalli told me about the church they have been going to and invited me to come with her to Saturday night service while our men were at work. We packed up Jax and Orlando and went together. I had a really good time! It was definitely not the style I'm used to but you could totally feel God's presence and everyone was totally into worship! I was bawling like a baby. Haha. It was a very nice change. One thing that the pastor said really stuck out to me. I'm paraphrasing but basically he said to Act like we've already won our battles and worship joyfully even when we're in the midst of the battles. It's easy to only worship when we see the light at the end of the tunnel or when we see the results of a bad situation but It made me think of the verse "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-3

I am fighting some big battles right now and I need to be joyful. I know God is going to do something big in my life and I want my attitude to be one that pleases God. If I am negative and down, I'm basically not trusting God to be my everything, my provider and my hope. That is my prayer for this week.

Gnite all!

Frozen treats and swings!

Today I had such a great time with some good friends! I met up with Rebecca & Addy, Kalli & Orlando for some frozen yogurt, a trip to tummies & tots, and then we hit the park! It was the coolest park!! It was the first time Orlando & Jax had been to the park and on the swings! You could definitely tell that Kalli and I are first time moms because we were snapping pictures like two crazy ladies! Haha. We had so much fun. Addy was so sweet with the boys. She kept hugging the boys and loving on them. It was precious. So thankful for my two friends and their cute kids! Enjoy the pics!

New Blog Location!

Hello All!
Yup a new blog! The old one I had to pay for and that just seemed a little ridiculous and unnecessary. So here is the new one! I like it a lot more. I can customize it a lot! I'm sure I'll be switching up the design whenever I get bored. =) I even was able to import my old blog posts from a different blog, from when Todd and I were first married! It was fun to read the old posts. A lot has changed!

Life has been a little crazy. Christmas got me a little behind on blogging. It was kind of a nightmare with the business side of boldboudoir so I was in crazy rush mode for clients. I don't know how I got through it but somehow it happened. Prayer, Coffee, all nighter photo editing, and hiring a friendsisstant (assistant/friend) to help me.....I think that did the trick and helped get me through a lot. But yeah it was nuts. I told myself I wanted to be done with all work by the middle of December, but there I was on Christmas Eve dropping off a piece of product to a boudoir client at 11pm on our way to Todd's parents. Yeah... not very fun. As soon as that was done I was able to relax and enjoy a great Christmas with our families!

We spent Christmas Eve with my Mom & Carlos. Christmas Day with Todd's family and new years at our good friends Gabe and Kalli's! It was so much fun being with family and it held a new excitement with having a little one to share it with, even though he wont remember. =) We had more fun than him I'm sure. We dressed him up in Christmas pj's, a silly Santa hat and had a blast seeing him be more interactive with us and his cousins! I have lots of pics to go up and promise to do that soon.

Our newest family news is that we are selling our home. It was a very hard decision, but a necessary one. We simply can't afford it. We have taken a huge paycut since we bought our home in 2008. I was working at the time and Austin lived with us. We manage to get by but it's not without faith. We're planning on downsizing in the same area, but are not sure what we are going to do about a studio space. Losing the studio is my biggest sadness. I've worked very hard to create my studio. But I think that God has something else in mind so I'm praying for an open mind and faith in the unknown.

We have had a ton of wedding inquiries after the holiday. More people get engaged around the holidays more than any other time of year. We've booked several but we're praying to book even more. That would help us greatly with finances.

Jax is growing so fast. He is now starting to sit up and and will start eating solids soon. I love being his mommy more than anything in the world. He is a huge joy to his daddy and me. He's napping right now so I am clicking away at my keyboard. It's been a rough day. He's recently started taking a bottle more often and he is going on a little nursing strike this week. I have had a lot of trouble nursing him (supply issues) but I continue to nurse him, pump and supplement if I don't have a supply stocked. It was a hard decision to make but him getting fed is most important and he is still getting 75% breastmilk over formula so I know he is getting the nutrients.

I better get some actual work done while he continues to nap so I am off.

Have a great day!

Katie
